Our Vets

All vets at Kingfisher Veterinary Practice work entirely with domestic pets. Each has their own particular interests bolstered by their attendance at appropriate Continuing Professional Development courses.


Phil Boyer MA VetMB GP Cert (SAM) (Partner)

Phil Boyer has completed a further two year course and passed exams to qualify for the Certificate in Small Animal Medicine (GPCert(SAM)). He undertakes many of the ultrasonographic examinations within the practice and is generally found working from our Chard and Crewkerne branches. Outside work Phil is a keen sportsman and especially enjoys tennis and cycling.


Raman Coore BSc DVM PhD Cert VOphthal Dip LHP MRCVS

Raman Coore has a Certificate in Veterinary Ophthalmology. He has studied this subject in depth for a number of years. Raman works at our Martock and Taunton branches but will see in house ophthalmology referral from anywhere within the practice. Outside of work Raman likes playing rock guitar and entertaining his cats and children.


Marian Singleton BVSc MRCVS

Marian Singleton works at our Martock and Crewkerne surgeries. She has a particular interest in acupuncture and has many successes in treating a range of ailments and managing more long term conditions such as arthritis. She is also keen on backyard poultry and attends regular meetings and CPD on this subject. Outside work Marian enjoys her garden and walking her labrador.


Andrew Carpenter BVSc MRCVS

Andrew Carpenter graduated from Liverpool and is carrying on the family tradition! He has a wide range of small animal veterinary experience and can be found working at our Crewkerne, Martock and Taunton surgeries. Outside work he is a keen Kite Surfer.


Jennifer Baker BVMS MRCVS

Jennifer works at our Taunton branch. She lives in Taunton and is also a house parent at Queens college. She has a young daughter called Emily and a Labrador called Jura. She enjoys countryside walks and horse riding.


Amy Collins BVetMed MRCVS

Amy Collins works mainly at our Martock branch. She has been away to RVC in London for the last 5 years and is pleased to be back in Somerset. Outside work, Amy likes hanging out with a book and her cat, Morgan


Sophie Bentley BSc BAVetMB MRCVS

Sophie Bentley gained a degree in Zoology from Nottingham University in 2006. She gained her Veterinary degree from Cambridge in 2013. Sophie loves to travel. She has worked in Argentina, Indonesia and worked for 6 months on a game reserve in Botswana.
Outside of work she likes to take long walks on the coast with her 2 dogs Purdy and Dixie. She also has 2 kune pigs Rodney and Sydney. Sophie is originally from London but fell in love with the Blackdown Hills.

Jenny Allen

Jenny has spent most of her working life with the PDSA, and also has an additional RCVS qualification in small animal surgery. She is loving her new life in the Somerset countryside, and outside of work she enjoys working with local conservation projects including bird ringing, as well as walking her Golden Retriever Lottie.

Rob Clark BVetMed (Hons) MRCVS

Rob went to school in Taunton and studied at the Royal Veterinary College in London. At work he is particularly interested in surgery and in exotic animal medicine, particularly in birds of prey.

Outside of work, Rob is a keen guitarist and squash player (although not at the same time…) and has two dogs, an elderly flatboat called Tali and his working Cocker Spaniel Islay.

Amy Harrison BA VetMB MRCVS

Amy grew up in Australia, and graduated in 2017 from Cambridge University. She fell in love with the West country some years ago and is very happy to be putting down roots in Somerset.

In her spare time she enjoys baking and enjoying the countryside with her unruly Schipperke Koehler. Amy is a keen boxer so please remember to keep on her good side…
