Our aim is to help you keep your pets as healthy as possible throughout their lives. We understand that your pet is part of your family and will help you make the best decisions for his or her long term health and welfare.
Preventative healthcare services: Nutrition and weight control, vaccination, parasite prevention, neutering advice, senior pet health screening.
Advice for breeders: Pre-breeding health checks and advice, Kennel Club Health Scheme services including hip and elbow scoring, whelping and puppy rearing advice, tail docking and veterinary legislation.
Adjunctive therapies: Acupuncture, Osteopathy
Kingfisher Vets offers expert veterinary consultations and treatment for all pet animals including exotic pets during our normal consulting hours, with a 24 hour emergency service available outside of these hours. All practices have fully equipped pharmacies so that the vast majority of the time both initial and ongoing treatment is immediately available. All of our surgeries have full operating facilities. Most surgeries are performed on site, including soft tissue, abdominal and orthopaedic surgeries. For more information please see the facilities page.

Our vet Raman Coore has a Royal College Certificate in Ophthalmology, meaning that he has advanced knowledge of this area of veterinary medicine, together with advanced equipment. All of our vets are trained in ophthalmology but for more complex cases Raman can offer expert care and treatment, together with advanced surgical procedures such as electrolysis for distichiasis and corneal grafting techniques for eye ulcers.
Our vet Marian Singleton has additional qualifications in acupuncture and so can offer this valuable adjunctive therapy, proven to be useful in a variety of situations including spinal disease, arthritis and a variety of chronic diseases.

At Kingfisher our staff provide a full 24 hour emergency service 365 days a year. In the event of an emergency during normal working hours please contact your usual or closest branch

Your details will be taken by our emergency answering service and the duty vet will then contact you.
During weekends our emergency service will be run from our Chard surgery, where possible, we will ask you to attend appointments here.
Home visits are available on request, however it may not be possible to provide all that your pet requires without returning it to the surgery.
In circumstances where you or your pet may require transport to or between surgeries this can be provided using our specially equipped animal ambulance. For current charges relating to use of the ambulance for collections or deliveries please contact your local surgery.
Our grooming service is based at our Crewkerne branch. Grooming is provided by our experience groomer Sharon Evis.
We have a dedicated grooming salon at the rear of the Crewkerne surgery, which allows animals in for grooming to be housed in a peaceful and quiet environment. We also have the facilities to provide for any patients which may need special handling, including sedation where necessary, or any additional nursing or veterinary treatments whilst with us.
Our facilities in the grooming area include a walk-in bath / shower suite, variable height tables and custom dryers.
